Animating gif images files has becomes something of an art form in and of itself.There's a generation of anime talents like Shingo Yamashita, Shinichi Kurita, Kenichi Kutsuna and Ryosuke Sawa who made their names as gif animators.

Veteran Dreamworks animation story artist Anthony Holden has recently applied the art to the New World versions of a trio of One Piece pirates.
